Hello everyone!
The Fall 2007 season of the Bangkok Pool League ended on December 8th with the 9-Ball season-ending Singles Tournament. I think those that attended would agree it was a fitting ending to the season. Phillipine professional Ronnie Alacano was in town, and logged a lot of time at the event to help with the award presentations and to show off with some great shotmaking. 162 people showed up, with a record 122 taking part in the draw. The league donated 54 bottles of spirits and wine to the event, and the participating bars added another 32, bringing the total up to 86. The food buffet was a big hit. Special thatnks to Moonshine Bar for contributing the ribs and the chili rice. The draw worked smoothly, but the number of people playing did lead to a longer than expected day.
The final 4 were Neng(Dubliner), Ben(Rack Em Up), Ken(Hillary Bar) and Bee(Rack Em Up). Bee beat Ben and Ken beat Neng to set up a final that was well worth waiting for. In the end, Bee finished first, Ken was second, Ben was third and Neng was fourth.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS
On behalf of everyone connected with the league, I would like to wish everyone a great holiday season and a Happy New Year.
SPRING 2008 SEASON
We still have not determined a starting date for the next Bangkok Pool League Season. Everyone is still concentrating on the number of parties going on all around. We expect to begin creating the new schedule some time in January. If anyone knows of a bar interested in fielding a team, please let me know. I will contact all of the bars from the previous season within the next few weeks to get an idea of how large the league might be.
