Most of the scoresheets and 9-Ball scores have made their way in, so I was able to get an early start on updating the website through week 3. Please have a look, and let me know if everything is computing properly.
A brief requiem:
By now I am guessing that most everyone in Bangkok has learned of the sudden and untimely death of Peder. He was 46 years old. His death was confirmed by autopsy as being a massive heart attack caused by a blood clot. It was quick and he did not suffer. All of Bangkok, the nightlife scene, the Bangkok Pool League, and I personally have lost a good friend. None will be quite the same without Peder, who touched virtually all of us with his very unique style. His ability to transform complete strangers into "buddies" will sorely be missed. His talent for exasperating people while at the same time endearing himself to them never ceased to fascinate me. He had a certain magic that would consistently turn a pool match into a party. He was an engaging, larger-then-life character who drew people out and made it impossible for them to sit on the sidelines. He could turn almost any event into a party, and I envied him that. Being around him was never boring. He had a way of making it all fun, and he will be sorely missed. I wish him the peace in death that sometimes eluded him in life, but for those of us now fated to go on without him there will be a void that will be impossible to fill. He will not soon be forgotten. Chok Dee Krop, Khun Peder.

We are now up and running. The website has been updated with all of the results that are in through Week 2. I was able to pick up all of them, so the standings are current. The worksheet I use has been re-created and I believe is bug free (thanks, Will). If anyone sees anything that is either wrong or not computing properly, please bring it to my attention. I'll remind everyone to please play using the same name each week.
There have already been some surprising results, and a lot of very close matches. That I have all of the scoresheets for 8-Ball and all of the results for 9-Ball is perhaps the biggest. Thanks, all. 249 people have played in 8-Ball so far. Of the 38 teams competing in 5 divisions, only 4 are sitting at 2-0 after 2 weeks. In 9-Ball, 8 teams out of 36 are as yet undefeated. Its a great start to the season.

The Fall 2011 season finally got underway this week. By all the reports I've recieved so far, it seems to have gotten off to a great start. Most of the games were close, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
I was able to get all of the scoresheets. Unfortunately, the worksheet I use to enter all of the information is not quite ready and is now in the hands of someone that can fix it properly. It will still be a day or 2 before I will be able to enter all of the Week 1 results. Sorry about that.
Carlsberg has joined the League as an official sponsor, which will no doubt be welcome news to most of the beer drinkers. I think the relationship will be good for Carlsberg, good for the league, and good for the people who play (and drink) in it. More on this will will be coming out shortly, but if anyone is interested in becoming a Carlsberg customer, call me or the number listed below thier logo.
Preperations for our match in Jakarta against the Jakarta All-Stars are proceeding nicely. "Team Bangkok" currently consists of 40 players, and quite a few more are expected to make the trip simply join in on the fun. I am expecting just over 50 people to be there to play and/or cheer for our side.

The Fall 2011 season of the Bangkok Pool League is now set for a start of Monday, September 19th (8-BALL) and Wednesday, September 21 (9-BALL). Once again, sorry for the delay. The new Divisional Chart, 8-Ball Schedule and 9-Ball Schedule are now up, and the standings will be updated as soon as I get the results for week 1.

A lot of people have been asking me when the new season will start. I was hoping for a Sept 12th start, but am now hoping (and expecting) to be able to start on the 19th. A maximum of 32 can play in 4 divisions, and a minimum of 36 are needed to go to 5 divisions. I have been stuck in no-mans land, and people keep changing re the number of teams they can field. I am currently at 36 for 8-Ball with the possibility of either 2 or 4 more. I am currently at 33 for 9-Ball, but am hoping 3 more will committ by this week-end. If all goes as planned (hoped), the Captains meetings will be next week in anticipation of a September 19th start.
Sorry for the delay, but I do not want to print up the schedules if I expect they may have to be changed.
The Jakarts Event is going very well, with 32 people from 12 countries signed up so far. Once the Fall season gets underway, I will post more updates.
